The Wizard Detecitve Derrick Dunne Series

DEATH BY CARROTS

A wizard is about to have his carefree life filled with one thing—death.

Derrick Dunne‘s life as a wizard of the powerful Twelfth Order seems to be headed straight to nowhere. Then a new job opportunity comes his way when a powerful wizard is killed by carrots. Yes, carrots. Twenty-four to be exact.

The top-secret detective division of wizards, WI-6, recruits Derrick who has proved himself to be clever, resourceful and an out-of-the spellbook thinker. He is deemed the perfect choice to investigate such a comical and puzzling death.

Things get even more intriguing when the WI-6 assigns Derrick to work with a beautiful yet mysterious partner from the London branch who is not a fellow wizard, but a shifter.

When Derrick breaks every rule in the wizard spellbook and falls for his partner, he gets sloppy, and the killer comes after her. If Derrick uses black magic to solve the case and save his partner, it will be the end of his wizarding career. But if he doesn’t, it could be the end of them both.

DEATH BY UMBRELLA

A wizard turned detective finds out he is the key to—murder

Derrick Dunne thought his life of solving unusual death cases in Los Angeles for the top-secret detective division of wizards, WI-6, was sealed when he nailed his first case, Death by Carrots. But when the director informs him that he is being transferred to the London division of WI-6, Derrick senses it is for his own protection, but the director won’t confirm or deny it.

Reunited with his British partner, Fiona Singh, it won't be the same on her turf. He hopes he can keep his growing attraction to her in check because working with a new detective crew in the UK will be challenging enough. Not to mention the case is his most unusual yet—death by beach umbrella.

As if that's not bad enough, a feud between the WI-6 director and his LA division boss has followed him across the pond.

Between that, his attraction to Fiona, and discovering this umbrella case may be even stranger than he thought, things are about to go from bad to crazy.

Will Derrick solve the case of death by umbrella, or will he have to drop everything to save the Los Angeles division and himself?

DEATH BY BEER

A wizard detective discovers new enemies as well as—murder

Derrick Dunne is once again working with his British partner, Fiona, from the London WI-6 office. This time it’s permanent due to Fiona’s request to transfer to the Los Angeles division. He hopes that Fiona made the request not only because they are great detective partners, but also because there is an undeniable spark between them. But that attraction is soon put on hold when they are assigned yet another unusual death case, this one caused by—beer.

Or at least that is what the police think, but Derrick and his partner suspect murder was the true cause of death. There is only one problem, how to prove it? With the feud between the WI-6 director and his LA division boss still going strong, Derrick is constantly distracted as he defends his boss against his enemies.

Will Derrick and Fiona find the murderer or will Derrick be forced to commit a murder of his own?

DEATH BY SWORDFISH

A wizard detective finds something fishy—a murder weapon gone wrong.

Derrick Dunne is once again working with his British partner, Fiona, but their time together in Los Angeles doesn’t last long when another unusual death case turns up in London. The detectives find themselves back in the London WI-6 office assigned to a high-profile case that has attracted the interest of the top brass in the British government. The case involves an important member of the aristocracy which places a lot of pressure on Derrick and Fiona to solve the case quickly. But they soon find the case to be their most difficult yet. They’ve solved their fair share of unusual death cases, but one where the murder weapon is a stuffed swordfish truly has Derrick scratching his head. Not to mention the fact that the murder victim, Lord Trousdale, had his fair share of enemies including his own son—the Viscount.

As they dig deeper into the case, they find their list of suspects turns international. Fiona soon realizes her talents as a shifter are going to be vital to solving the case, especially when they find a clue that indicates a paranormal creature may have aided the murderer.

With a tight deadline and a list of suspects that keeps growing, will Derrick and Fiona finally become more than working partners, but romantic ones as well?
